| I have been interested in drawing since
I was very young. At the age of 18 months I would take a pen and
draw tiny spirals
and make marks for long periods of time. I spent my childhood in
a home on a river where I developed a love for nature which I try
to put into my paintings to this day.
I graduated from FSU with a Bachelors in Fine Arts, married a wonderful
woman who believed in me and we had two amazing children. I worked
as a stay-at-home Dad/fulltime artist for 8 years. During this time
we moved to Oregon where I painted mostly landscapes, but did a
lot of figural study as well. In 2003 we moved to the Eastern Shore
of Mobile Bay to be close to our families.
I couldn’t have landed in a better place. I worked for one
intense year sculpting and painting Mardi Gras floats. I probably
learned more about color there than I did in college. I have been
working for the last 2 years as a graphic artist at a screenprinting
company in Fairhope, AL. It was during this time that I began painting
with the Fairhope Street Artists. The community and the other artists
have fed my artistic appetite like nothing else.
I have recently decided to work as a full-time artist once again.
My workshops and classes will focus on capturing light and using
vivid color to express the joy of life and being an artist. I am
thrilled to share with others my excitement of painting in oils.
